Mosaic Plant

Ludwigia sedioides

Hardy Plant Bloody Dock

A crowd favorite! Clusters of small, diamond-shaped leaves grow from a central radius on each stem, forming a mosaic-like 4-6” rosette pattern across the water’s surface. As the rosettes from each stem fill in, a beautiful pattern emerges as a single plant can spread to cover 24 inches in a single season. Will thrive in warm water temperatures of 70 degrees and above, and can spread to cover 24 inches in a single season. Mosaic plant is intolerant of alkaline water and will die if the pH is above 8, so use acidic soil and fertilizer, and don’t plant in the pond or container until water is consistently warm. Submerge plant in 6-12” of water. Small, bright cup-shaped yellow flowers are cute, but not very significant.
