The February 8th General Meeting will be held at the Rockford Road library, 6401 42nd Ave. N. Crystal, MN 55427
Our speaker will be Victoria Housewright, Horticulturist II, at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, Her presentation will be: ‘Bogs: A Minnesota Specialty’ and will feature information about what makes bogs a distinct type of wetland, information about notable bogs in MN, an account of my trip to wild collect bog plant specimens on the north shore, and descriptions of Como’s exciting new bog plant collection.
Victoria Housewright is a Senior Horticulturist specializing in aquatic plants at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. She first fell in love with water gardening as a college intern at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, where she saw Victoria Water Platters for the first time. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a BA in History (summa cum laude) and BS in Horticulture (summa cum laude), Victoria worked as an estate gardener in the private sector until landing her dream job in the water gardens at Como. She is a proud St. Paul resident, where she lives with her husband and very small cat.
