The May 17th General meeting will be held from 2 to 4 at the Rockford Road Library, 6401 N. 42nd Ave. , Crystal, MN 55427. Mark Hanson will be speaking on Decorative Landscape Lighting Including Ponds and Streams.
Mark Hanson is an innovative entrepreneur and outdoor lighting designer based in Minnesota, known for his remarkable contributions to the field of outdoor illumination. Growing up in Golden Valley and Winnebago MN, Mark graduated from Armstrong High School in 1980 and went on to earn his degree from Mankato State University, where he honed his marketing skills.
After starting his career as a college marketing representative for a local beer distributor, Mark’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to seek opportunities in the business world. A key moment of inspiration struck while he was back home assisting his parents with their new deck construction. In 1986, he designed the first light fixture specifically tailored for outdoor decks, marking the beginning of his journey as a lighting innovator.
Over the years, Mark expanded his vision and established several successful brands, including **TerraDek Lights**, **TouchStone Lights**, and **SunTino Solar Lights**. His commitment to quality and design led to the company’s growth into various segments, including architectural outdoor lighting, walkways, landscaping, gardens, and water features. Mark’s work extends to both residential and commercial projects, ranging from apartments to amphitheaters.
Mark is particularly proud of his company’s commitment to American manufacturing, with assembly and powder coating operations that enable custom production and greater control over product quality.
