Lobelia siphilitica
The blue Minnesota Native version of cardinal flower, it sports a profusion of sky blue tubular flowers larger than its red cousin, with darker green elongated leaves. It too, likes evenly moist loamy soil, but it is not as tolerant of deeper water for extended periods of time. Still, a beautiful pollinator plant for the sunny garden or rain garden. Can be planted in natural waterways.
