MN Native/Bog Bean $

Bog Bean
Menyanthes trifoliata

Hardy Plant Bloody Dock

Unusual-looking leaves of three grow all along stems that trail along the water’s surface on this Minnesota Native. Very delicate groupings of frilly white flowers tinged with pink in early spring don’t last very long. Grow this one for the foliage. A great way to cover the water’s surface. Trailing roots are a fantastic place for fish to spawn, and the leaves stay sturdy and green all summer long. It also grows well in a stream, softening the look of rocks. Plant the stem with 1-2 sections in soil or directly in rocks at the pond edge and let the stems trail into the stream or pond. Can be planted in natural waterways.
