“Minnesota Turtles – Their Natural History and Management”

John Moriarty will be presenting a talk on the 10 species of turtles found in Minnesota.  The presentation will highlight their natural history, distribution, and recent research.  He will also cover their management, conservation, and what you should know about moving turtles or keeping turtles.

John Moriarty has been studying turtles in Minnesota for over 35 years.  He has been involved in numerous research projects including a recent study on Medicine Lake that tracked 75 radioed turtles of three species.  He has written several books on amphibians and reptiles and Minnesota Natural History.  He is currently the senior manager of wildlife for the Three Rivers Park District.
