Sarracenia purpurea x venosa x maroon
(w. purpurea x rubra (s. x chelsonii)
A subspecies of the Northern Purple is native to marshes and bogs of New Jersey to Georgia. Venosa, meaning “distinctly veined”, this pitcher plant follows the northern pitcher in form, but coloration of dark red veins abound on the upper traps.
