Taro Tea Cup
Colocasia esculenta ‘Tea Cup’

Near-black stems and veining contrast with the medium green foliage that stays partially furled creating the “tea cup” look. When the sun hits from behind, the leaves glow against the dark veins making it picture-worthy. During a rain, the “cups” will fill with water until they become heavy enough to dip down, and pour the water out, then spring back up to collect more. Water loving, it can handle being submerged a few inches, or grows just as well in a container. And the deer tend to not bother it.
