February 11 ,2024 General Meeting
February 11 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Intro to Permaculture (How to garden sustainably while being lazy).
A brief introduction to the 12 Permaculture Principles and 3 (4?) Ethics used in permaculture.
Learn a layman’s view of permaculture. What it is and isn’t. How you can incorporate permaculture into your garden and life. You may be amazed at the amount of permaculture you already know and may be using in your garden. We will also talk about zones, guilds, food forests and sustainable gardening. Questions will be encouraged.
Presented by Theresa Rooney, Hennepin County Master Gardener
Theresa Rooney: I garden in a small Minneapolis, turf free yard that is also a Certified Wildlife Habitat. I am a lifelong gardener, mostly self-taught. I am pleased to be a Hennepin County Master Gardener and as such I help host WCCO AM830 “Smart Garden” (a radio gardening show). My garden and life run on permaculture principles, resiliency, sustainability and laziness. When I am not gardening, talking or thinking about gardening, I enjoy reading, cooking, caring for my pets and napping.
