This is a hybrid cross of the MN native (nelumbo lutea) and the Asian Native (nelumbo nucifera). What you get is HUGE warm yellow flowers that stand high above their leaves. Given a lot of space and a large container, or planted in a natural bottom pond, they will reach more than 5 feet tall! Because it is a hybrid, do not plant in waterways with access to streams or ponds not fully contained on your own property.
