Carex stricta
Great clump-forming sedge with fountain-like foliage similar to prairie dropseed, but tolerates a bit of shade and periods of flooding. Great for the rain garden or edge of the pond. Plant densely to attract wetland wildlife including numerous moth and butterfly caterpillars, leaf hoppers, grasshoppers (and those that feed on them) and cover for small birds. Nice tan fall color too.
