A member of the mint family, so beware of the spreading rhizomes. Its “obedience” refers to its spray of purple tubular flowers staying put in the direction they are placed. Loving constantly moist soil of the pond edge, it also provides copious amounts of nectar in late summer into fall. 3-4’h
