MN Native / Arrowhead, Broadleaf $

Arrowhead, Broadleaf

Sagittarius latifolia

Hardy Plant Bloody Dock

The classic deeply-lobed heart-shaped leaves give this Minnesota Native its “Arrowhead” name. Sometimes called “duck potato” because the edible tubers are a favorite food for waterfowl and aquatic mammals. A spray of small white flowers adds spring beauty. While it can handle full sun, it does better in cooler water and part sun. Can be planted in natural waterways.  Tubers typically leaf out a little late, but so worth it.  Beautiful when planted along shorelines.
