Hello MWGS Members

News from the MWGS Board:

The Board held a video meeting on April 5th and had a very productive meeting.

  1. The Board has decided to purchase Zoom Pro so that we can conduct our General meeting without compromising anybody’s health during this Pandemic.
  2. We decided to cancel the May Picnic because Roseville has closed their park system. Because we had already cancelled our April 19th meeting with Doug Jensen as our speaker, we decided to have the April 19th meeting from 2 pm-3 pm with Q&A to follow and we have asked Jan Schreier to redo her (Opening your Pond) presentation because now with Zoom Pro we will be able to record the presentation and we will be able to post it on our website (MWGS.org) and our Facebook page (Minnesota Water Garden Society) and our newly created YouTube Channel (Minnesota Water Garden Society).
  3. With the cancellation of the May 17th picnic we have rescheduled Doug Jensen (What’s in your water garden) for Sunday May 17th from 2 pm-3 pm with Q&A to follow. As we can record the presentation, we will post it on our website (MWGS.org) and our Facebook page (Minnesota Water Garden Society) and our newly created YouTube Channel (Minnesota Water Garden Society).
  4. We also discussed this year’s bus tour and the open-to-the-public tour.  With all the uncertainty surrounding the current coronavirus pandemic, the Board has decided not to have a member’s bus tour and talked about possibility restructuring the pond tour.  Pauline Danielson, tour chair, will contact those who volunteered their water gardens for this year’s tour to discuss making changes.  She will keep us updated. Please stay tuned to Facebook, mwgs.org, and emails for more information as we stay strong and move MWGS forward in 2020
