“Integrated Pest Management in Gardens to Conserve Pollinators”
Presented by Dr. Vera Krischik
Associate Professor and Extension Specialist Department of Entomology, University of Minnesota
IPM is an ecosystem-based approach that employs long-term prevention of pests and pest damage through monitoring of plants, pests and weather to project ahead and plan.  While pesticides simply respond to the pest, IPM addresses the source of pest problems.  IPM strives to avoid chemicals harmful to pollinators and toxic to the environment.
Dr. Vera Krischik is a University of Minnesota associate professor and Extension IPM specialist with 34 years of experience promoting Integrated Pest Management (IPM), biocontrol, and compatible insecticides to protect pollinators and other good bugs in greenhouses, nurseries, lawns, urban forests, parks, and restorations.
