Wetland Mitigation

Presented by Leslie E. Day – Mitigation Coordinator

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District has a very active wetland mitigation program, with 70 or more wetland restoration projects under review and 80 or more being monitored at any given time across Minnesota and Wisconsin.  These projects can range from 15 to over 15,000 acres in size.  This presentation will focus on some of the wetland community types native to Minnesota and Wisconsin, the functions and benefits they provide to the world around and downstream of them and share examples of some successful restoration projects in Minnesota.

Leslie E.
